Note

Submarine C-34 was sunk by a torpedo from SMS U-52 off Shetland 24 July 1917 while surfaced (Location: North Sea, 59 miles east of Fair Isle [59°51'N 1°05'W]). There was only one survivor - it wasn't John Tagg!
